Washington, D.C – During his marathon several hours long testimony on Capitol Hill today before the United States Congress, Facebook CEO and founder, Mark Zuckerberg refused on several occasions to answer any questions which would implicate the social media giant as a neutral platform. This has caused many to believe that the company has essentially admitted to being a politically biased entity.
Most notably during his questioning from Texas Senator Ted Cruz the Senator asked CEO Zuckerberg wether Facebook considers itself to be a “neutral public forum”, to which Zuckerberg deflected, saying instead that the company considers itself to be a “platform for ideas”.
Throughout the course of the hearing on data security, the question of Facebook’s political bias has come up many times. This comes as the company has recently begun to majorly crack down on any Conservative or right wing opinions.
