Denver, CO – According to tweets from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, multiple Deputies have been shot and are “down” following their response to a domestic disturbance report at an apartment complex.
“We have multiple officers down,” Deputy Jason Blanchard told the Denver Post. “We are not giving numbers or status at this point, we are still working on getting the suspect in custody.”
“Any citizens in the affected area are instructed to shelter in place, avoid windows and stay away from exterior walls,” the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said, calling it an “active event.”
Police from different agencies have been put on standby and are assisting in sorting out the scene. In addition, a SWAT team has been called in to help in the situation.
At the moment we do not know if any officers have been killed or if the shooter is neutralized.
This is a developing story.
