Washington, DC. – A new draft report from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Trump administration states that the goal of the organization is:
“HHS accomplishes its mission through programs and initiatives that cover a wide spectrum of activities, serving and protecting Americans at every stage of life, beginning at conception.”
This wording shows a sharp distinction from the path of former Presidential administrations would would either support the pro-abortion status quo, or say nothing on the topic. It is clear that the Trump administration however intends to buck that trend by openly supporting life. This began very early in the presidency, just days after the inauguration President Trump sent Vice President Mike Pence to speak at the annual March for Life in Washington, DC.
More recently, the White House has said that the President will sign a 20 week abortion ban which has recently been passed by the House of Representatives and is currently under consideration in the Senate.
It is clear that President Trump intends to take an active pro-life stance as President, and perhaps we can expect more from him on this critical issue.
