London, UK. – Terror on the streets of London today after a man wielding a machete attacked a random bystander before running off. The attack occurred on road in Leytonstone, east London during midday, in in front of a crowd of people.
The victim was slashed about the face with a machete and is said to have lost much blood following the attack, he is listed in serious yet stable condition.
A spokesman for the London Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to High Road, Leytonstone at around 14:30hrs on Monday, 9 October, to reports of a man with a slash injury to his face.
“The man – aged in his early 20s – was taken by LAS to an east London hospital, where his condition is serious but stable.
“Detectives from Waltham Forest are investigating. There has been no arrest at this early stage.”
The attacker has not yet been apprehended and is considered armed and dangerous.
